“Almost “ was awarded First prize at the Danforth Museum ‘s 2010 Annual Juried Members Show Juried by Jen Mergel, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, and Helen Molesworth, Chief Curator, Institute of Contemporary Art Boston.

"In 'Almost,' Cynthia Maurice deprives a handful of daffodils of the water that would allow them to bloom as they should:unabashed—trumpeting spring, youth, delight. Upside down, pinned to a wall, what life does remain in these flowers drains and is absorbed by the paper on which they are drawn."
